Happy Monday! If your morning was anything like mine, it was a true Monday in EVERY sense of the word! Oversleeping, cranky kiddos, and we were out of little man’s favorite cereal. And I ended up driving my daughter to preschool in my PJs today. But all three made it to school with THEIR clothes on, so I consider it a success! So let’s take a deep breath and have some fun!
Let’s do some really, really fun math. I LOVE foyers, and currently I don’t have much of one right now. Our foyer doesn’t have any wall space and is the main traffic area of our home, so there isn’t much I can do to pretty it up right now. SIGH. But someday I have a plan to create a little space for a foyer table…I swear all you need is 36″ and you can create a beautiful (and practical) set-up. So right now I’m going to live through y’all and help you do some Foyer Math.
I’m in love with this table. It can go so many directions: cottage, traditional, rustic…it is like your neutral backdrop. So let’s do some addition:
ONE: Table: I love the bottom shelf on this one. You can fill the bottom with some baskets to create a mini-mudroom, one for mittens, one for hats, etc. Or you can use this to supplment your organizing (craft supplies, homework odds and ends). Or just leave it open and beautiful.

TWO: A great mirror. This is not only a fantastic focal point, but raise your hand if you also have left the house not knowing you had baby spit-up all over the back of your shirt?! Lipstick checks, or even write little love notes to each other before leaving for work!
+
THREE: A tiered tray. I recently found this for a client for her dining room, but I loved it so much I thought it would work great in a foyer too. Keys, wallet, loose change, chapstick (that would be me)…throw it all in, and grab it on your way out the next day.
+
FOUR: Something fun. I believe in having fun in your house! Put out something that will make you smile when you pass it. Ever see something on the shelf and think you just had to have it, but didn’t know where to put it? Ta Da!
+
FIVE: Tall Vase or Dome. A vase can obviously hold some flowers or greenery to give some life to the space. But for a twist on that, these Restoration Hardware glass domes are super fun. I love the old scrolls they show in this one. But add any collection in here, you can even switch it out for the different holidays.

A beautiful but also functional entry foyer table. This one is for someone with wall space, but if you have one of those great classic old homes with the wide open foyers (think Gone with the Wind here), swap out my rectangle table for a round one.

Just a little more eye candy for you all to get those ideas rolling! Doesn’t it just make you want to come home? And THAT my friends is what good design is all about!
