Any new parents in the house?
If you are a new mommy or daddy (or soon to be), I have some good news for you…today is all about the babes! I ADORE designing kids’s spaces…you can use colors and patterns that you never could in the rest of your home. And you can focus on such sweet little themes. So on Day 26 of my 30 Day Design Challenge I’m helping you out with some nursery decor with FREE PRINTABLES!
For a flashback here, this is my VERY first nursery I ever did…it was for my own sweet baby girl (who is now 8 years old! Everyone thought I was N-U-T-S when I told them I was going to do a gray and black and silver nursery (this was before the “greige” trend hit a few years ago). In fact one friend asked me tentitavely “Aren’t you going to do ANY pink in her room?” Instead I picked a deep Ralph Lauren charcoal gray and when I was 8 month pregnant I finished painstakingly painting the silver and black pinstripes all over her room. I LOVED the finished product. It even won a first place award in a Better Homes and Gardens design contest that year. I can’t believe this room happend EIGHT YEARS AGO (but it shows you that neutral colors stay classic):
I chose all white furniture for the room and simple white cotton curtains, so that the walls would be the focal point. I added a capiz West Elm Chandelier and while you can’t see it in the photo, I painted a silver star burst on the ceiling around the light. The bedding was all from Target-in a graphic black and white pattern. All three of my kiddos used this nursery, we just changed out the photos over the crib for each kiddo who lived in here. Looking back, I think I would have added a big graphic rug to the middle of the room!
I could go on and on about nursery design, but today I’ll focus on one mini-project. The artwork. Go on over to Etsy and allow yourself to be overwhelmed by the amazing artists who have created little masterpieces for your little one’s nursery. But today I’m giving you a link to a round-up of 100 FREE nursery art printables, thanks to The Kiwi in the Clouds What a fantastic round-up she created!
To be honest, a ton of these would not only work in your child’s room, but some of them in your grown-up spaces as well! Enjoy the eye candy! Here is just a sampling, find all 100 HERE
