Today I’m going to share my Round Up of 7 Beautiful Budget Baths!
Since my hubby and I own a remodeling company, we buy ugly houses and make them pretty. And I love it! Most of the time. I have lived with no cabinet doors, plywood floors, and rooms without doors. But the hardest thing to gulp down are some really grubby bathrooms we have inherited in these homes. Avocado colored toilets, shag carpenting, I’ve seen it all.
There is something about the room you get clean in: you want it to feel clean and shiny as well.
But bathrooms are notoriously expensive to remodel (I should know!). So if you have a bathroom that needs some major love, check out these beautiful seven bathrooms on a budget. The best part is none of them scream “I did this on a budget!”. They are all bathrooms that I would be proud to have in my home. In fact, one of them is just that! So check out these beauties and get inspired to revamp your bath!
ONE: A bathroom for the girls.
I love that this is a bathroom for a teenage girl…wouldn’t you have died to have a bathroom like this growing up? Oh my! Beautiful and affordable too. I’m in love with that graphic black & white wallaper and those sconces. My prof from design school would call this space “a little jewel box”.
TWO: A bathroom for those who love modern design (on a budget)
This best part of this bathroom post is the tips on how to take an inexpensive tile (a classic subway tile), and make it look high-end with the layout. Plus, aren’t these pedants great? And I’m always a sucker for those wall-mounted faucets…drool worthy!
THREE: A dream farmhouse style bathroom
My favorite style is that cottage/farmhouse look, so I was hooked when I saw this bathroom. Shiplap is uber popular right now, but the best news is it is a very simpe & inexpensive update to boring drywall! And a trick I have done with my clients for years: instead of buying an expensive cabinet, find a vintage dresser or table, and covert it into an unique vanity. And for that beautiful mirror? A thrift store or Goodwill is a great place to find a mirror just waiting for a DIY paint make-over. And that goregous faucet? She bought it off Ebay for a steal!
FOUR: A kid’s bath that the gown-ups will love too: for just over $2000
This bathroom happens to be in my own house! In fact this remodel is what inspired this round-up of budget baths! We gutted our Santa Fe style bath complete with Aztec wallpaper, sponge painting, and red clay tiles. For just over $2000 we gave it a vintage gentleman’s powder room vibe. We used a glass herringbone tile mosaic floor as our splurge factor, and this console sink was a must-have for me. I saved big bucks by searching high and low and finding a model that was being discountinued. To check out how we did our bath on a budget: HERE
FIVE: Open shelves that bring on the charm
Going back to the cottage style I love: beadboard and wainscotting are super cost effective ideas, that add so much personality to a room. It gives the room a high-end look with materials that cost pennies. But what I love about this bathroom is how much charm they fit into three simple shelves. This would be perfect for a bathroom that was low on storage…and pretty at that!
SIX: A whimsical bath for the bambinos
Okay this bathroom is just plain FUN! And as it should be: it is a children’s bath remodel that cost them $1800! I love the sliding glass door and the license plates on the wall. I couldn’t figure out what the flooring was, it looks so much like a reclaimed wood. Nope, its woodgrain TILE. Check out more of their bath cost savings ideas!
SEVEN: A rustic bathroom that includes a tutorial!
Don’t you just love a good tutorial? Learn how to make this great rustic bath fixture just like she did. I also love the wood mirror and the vintage style faucet (P.S. I used the same one at my old house: it’s a great deal for a beautiful piece of plumbing!) Keeping the colors neutral really let all of the materials shine.
I have all of these bathrooms and more on my PINTEREST page, so check them out and get even more inspiration! And speaking of inspiration, I’m wrapping up my 30 Day Design Challenge. Each day I show you a mini project, design idea, or DIY: by the end of the month, we will hit every room in your home! Check it on my BLOG or follow along on FACEBOOK.
