My High-Low Farmhouse Dining Room as Feautured on Remodelaholic
If you have been hanging with me for the last few months you might know that I have an awesome side gig being a monthly contributor at the amazing Remodelaholic team. If you haven’t checked them out yet…be prepared to set about three hours aside to get lost in the maze of creativity over there!
This month I created a High-Low Farmhouse Dining Room. I created one netural farmstyle room with no particular budget in mind, then I RE-CREATED it on a tight budget. I managed to re-create it at less than one third of the price as the original!
So can you tell which is which?
Here is the “High” budget Dining Room version. It features Restoration Hardware furniture, a beautiful indigo graphic rug, upholstered chairs and swiss cross pillows. Black Windsor chairs add a classic farmhouse touch, but in a more modern color, and the Pottery Barn chandelier is a great focal point. I added some round rattan baskets for the wall as unique artwork.
Total cost: $7,001. Honestly this look is timeless and is probably worth the investment. But….
But I thought I could do better! I took every element I found in this “High” version of this Farmhouse Dining Room, and found more budget friendly versions of each one. The new “Low” version keeps all of the classic neutral beauty but comes in at more than THREE TIMES LESS.
Total Cost: $2194. So go ahead, give yourself a new dining room…or two…or three….
So there you go-great design truly can be achieved at any budget! And the best part is that you can mix and match items for a budget that suits you. I might invest in the more expensive farmhouse dining table and chairs, knowing they could be pieces you can keep for decades. The chandeliers have huge price point differences and they are equally as lovely. And since I have small children I know that rugs are not a permanent investment (for now). So I would probably pick up this Target indigo and ivory beauty (and it will probably hide stains great with that pattern!)
