Like any lady these days, I wear a lot of hats. I run Postbox Designs, I fill in as a designer in our family-owned remodeling company, I’m a mom to three cuties, and I’m chief homemaker around here. But another hat I get to wear (which is tons of fun), is I’m a monthly contributor at Remodelaholic. Every month I get to tackle a different room and help their readers make their homes more beautiful.
This month I wanted to do something a little different. If you have hung out around here for awhile, occasionally I do a feature called “Designer Math”. I create a Mood Board where I + together several different items to create an equation=a whole new room. So this month I brought some Designer Math to the Remodelaholic readers x 3!
I started off with ONE Dining Room and styled it THREE different ways. So….which style are YOU? Let’s figure it out together!
I created a Mood Board for each style, and I give you step-by-step plan to pull together this look for yourself. Copy it exactly or use it as an inspiration to create your own look. If you want one of these items for yourself, check out the full article along with all of the sources HERE!
Style #1: Eclectic
Eclectic: This style involves incorporating several different styles at once, but you need a single element to pull everything together. It’s a short distance from eclectic to to crazy looking (a look NO ONE wants!). In this case, I pulled everything together by the color red, also incorporating an industrial edge to it. Eclectic = Fun, so add some whimsy to the space, and make yourself smile!
Style #2: Cottage Farmhouse
Cottage Farmhouse: This look is full of neutral colors and a casual feel. Add in some rustic elements (like this burlap pillow) and metal (like this farm inspired chandelier). Mix in furniture that is painted or has a distressed finish to it to complete your look. The more distressed, the better! To find more inspirational farmhouse Dining Rooms and links to each of these items, find it all HERE!
Style #3 Boho Chic
Boho Chic: This look is perfect for this time of year-warm and cozy with pops of color! Warm metal tones such as gold (like the chandelier above), brass, bronze, and rose gold are a perfect accent for this space. Global influences like this pillow and tribal rug are key for the Boho look. To keep it modern, use sleek pieces like this table and chairs. Think you are a Boho Chic type of girl?
