Tackle 3 Bedrooms with these Plans
Sophisticated Master Bedroom, Girl’s Nursery, and Serene Guest Bedroom
Three Different Bedroom Designs
Today I want to share not one, but THREE different Bedroom designs I recently created for a client who was moving into a brand new home. Your bedroom should be a reflection of you, a place to relax, and unwind from the world. So when you are tackling multiple bedrooms at once, you want each space to have their own personality. For this client we broke up her rooms into three different bedroom designs:
Sophisticated Master Bedroom Design
Sweet and Girly Nursery Design
Serene Coastal (and Budget Friendly) Guest Bedroom
Today I’m going to share the Mood Boards for each bedroom that I created for her! I also created Floor Plans, Shopping Lists, and all of the other drawings she would need to pull together these rooms from home.
Bedroom Design #1: Girl Nursery Decor
I was so excited to take on this brand new baby girl’s nursery design! My client wanted a grown-up sophisticated look, while still being sweet and girly. So we started with this girly scrolled Pottery Barn Kids dresser and this upholstered ivory and gold crib (don’t you wish you had an excuse to buy this?!). A pale rose glider is the perfect nursery item, and adding these floral pillows add a sweet touch. Pale pink Pottery Barn Kids bedding and tulle bedskirt finishes off the crib, and pulls in the soft pink from this budget friendly Rugs USA medallion rug.
But I think my favorite touches are the uber-girly Pottery Barn Kids bow valence shades and this sweet crystal chandelier. I think every little girl’s nursery decor should have at least one over-the-top girly item in it! And finally we finished off her nursery design with some simple and sweet artwork. These pink heart prints, flowered monogram art, and sophisticated gold sconces will decorate the walls of her new nursery.
Bedroom Design #2:
Calm and Coastal Guest Bedroom Decor
My client requested a budget friendly Guest Bedroom design, and with a soft serene color palette. While I created this bedroom design for their Guest Bedroom, I think this would also work perfectly for a Master Bedroom, or even a Tween Girl’s Bedroom. So many little girls want to get away from the pink and purple girl palette and have a more grown up look. In fact my ten year old daughter has requested blues and turquoises for her new tween bedroom design!
Since my client was furnishing so many rooms in her new house, she wanted her Guest Bedroom decor to be simple, easy to implement, and budget-friendly. In fact, the majority of this bedroom’s decor is from our favorite spot…Target. Whether you are on a budget, or simply want a crisp and clean look, I always recommend all white bedding. I found budget friendly white sheets, white duvet, and a diamond patterned white quilt all from Target. It automatically gives a hotel like feel to this room. She can finish off the white bedding with this soft blue striped accent pillow.
I layered in other decor accent pieces such as this boho framed tassel print, concrete vase, and gray vases-all from Target. These modern Target white nightstands give a clean, sleek look but keeps with the coastal vibe. Also from Target, these striated wood lamps will give some extra reading light for guests. And finally, this trio of blue artwork pulls in the blue onto the wall decor. And guess where it is from….that’s right-Target.
You can easily paint the walls a soft white or pale gray, but I suggested this pale turquoise color to bring some additional coastal flair to the room. When you have a room you don’t use as often, it can be a great place to add some color.
Bedroom Design #3
Sophisticated and Elegant Master Bedroom Decor
Like so many of us parents, we want the majority of our house to be kid friendly and casual. But when it comes to your Master Bedroom design-it should be all about the parents! My client requested a sophisticated bedroom design, with nicer finishes, and it shouldn’t look like kids lived there (I like her thinking!) The rest of the home has a lighter palette of blues, greens, and gray, so I kept that same color scheme, but used darker, richer jewel tones for their Master Bedroom decor.
We started the bedroom with this elegant upholstered headboard from Pottery Barn. All white bedding stays interesting with different textures and layers, then is finished off with these emerald green velvet accent pillows and this black and white lumbar pillow-all found on Etsy. A dark green velvet bench at the end of their bed pulls in this dark green hue. Dark walnut bedroom side tables get some glam with these gold mirrors and gold/marble table lamps.
The glamorous gold Bedroom accents are repeated in this crystal chandelier and vibrant artwork. We still wanted to keep a serene look to their bedroom decor, so a large neutral area rug pulls everything together.
All of their Master Bedroom decor items are meant to have a touch of glam to them, such adding in items such as agates, a marble jewelry box, and gold terraniums (all from West Elm) work into this jewel toned color scheme. They can keep all of their walls white, but I also suggested the idea of doing an accent wall in their Master Bedroom with this subtle herringbone wallpaper. Finally soft white curtains on modern gold rods finish off the look of this Master Bedroom.
We mixed modern and traditional elements together, and used dark, rich colors, but still keep it as a relaxing space where this Mom and Dad can recharge after a busy day. And isn’t that what we all want? (My kids know to go to Dad after bedtime….Mom is officially checked out after 8:30 PM)

Hi,
I’m a recent subscriber and confess that I don’t understand how to use or interpret your site. The room designs are lovely but the design boards and products don’t seem to be “clickable”. Is this something that you charge for? Even with the password and One Room Challenge posts there are no links. Thank you.

Hi Laurie, I’m so glad you found my site! Most of the designs you see are my client designs that they have given me permission to share, and since they paid for their custom design I don’t typically share all of the sources for those projects. However if there is something you really love, always feel free to ask a question on the post or email and I would be happy to share the source! For almost everything that I share the Shopping List/sources for are in my Free Resource Library so it is in one easy place. If you are already a subscriber you should have gotten your link/password to access it (otherwise this is the link to sign up: https://postboxdesigns.com/subscription-page/ ) If you are having any trouble accessing it, you can email me at kristin@postboxdesigns.com and I’ll make sure you are getting in.
