Teen Girl Bedroom Makeover
If you have a girl in your life…whether she is a tween, teen, or even younger, you’re going to want to read on! This Mom reached out to me for help turning her tween daughter’s bedroom into a whole new look. And since I also have a daughter the same age, this was double fun for me to work on (I even ran it past my daughter before sending it off to my client!)
And the best part, we did the whole thing via Online Interior Design! I designed this whole space from my home office here in Michigan. If Online Interior Design is a new concept to you, you can check out how it all works HERE
Creating a Girl Bedroom Makeover
An important part of this bedroom design was having a desk for her daughter for homework, crafts, and even make-up! This gold and white desk from Wayfair has tons of storage and is a budget friendly version of the Pottery Barn image they loved (Image #1). Then I created a whole artwork layout over her desk for her-similar to her inspirational image.
I used a bulletin board from Target in the middle with these gold clips above it-she can rotate her own artwork that she displays over her desk. Then I laid out a Gallery Wall of fun artwork (all found on Etsy). I created an Elevation drawing showing the exact frame and artwork sizes so my client knew exactly how to lay it all out (not shown).
I know my own daughter would love the idea of mixing her own artwork on the walls…
My client also requested a fun little seating area for her daughter and her friends. I found this gray velvet mini sofa and then found some great gray, pink, and gold pillows to sprinkle onto her sofa AND her bed. I would have died to have something this cool when I was her age!
Girl Bedroom Makeover: White, Pink, Purple & Gold
My client already had a bed (and bedding) for her daughter, so I wanted to work all of her new bedroom items into the pink, purple, white and gold theme. So going with those colors, I found this Target side table and fun table lamps (also from Target). A fuzzy white faux fur rug will work in her seating area, plus gives another spot to snuggle into. And finally, my client requested some storage for her daughter’s books-these Opalhouse shelves from Target can be hung over her dresser for extra storage on her walls.
