Modern Boho Loft Makeover via Interior E-Design
Hi, I’m Kristin! I’ve worked as an Interior Designer for over 14 years. I spent the first ten years working as a Senior Interior Designer in the high-end residential world. I worked with clients from start to finish with their custom designs, selected fixtures and finishes, worked with vendors and contractors, and estimated my own projects. This experience included architectural design, with a specialization in Kitchen & Bath Design. I also designed additions, lower levels, and just about every other space in a home.
For the last four years, I have worked as an Online Interior Designer with my own company, Postbox Designs. I work with clients all over the country, with every budget and style imaginable. I have extensive experience with space planning, creating Mood Boards, Floor Plans, 3D renderings, Shopping Lists, and step-by-step instructions (for my E-Design clients). When working with clients in person, I am in charge of ordering, installation, and coordinating with vendors and contractors.
Today I would like to showcase just one of my recent projects. In this Room Feature, I am showing a loft makeover done in San Francisco all done via E-Design. I designed the Living Room, Home Office, Dining Room, and Master Bedroom for my client.
Modern Boho Loft Project Overview
The Existing Space
For this project, I started with a blank space. I was giving a rough hand-drawn sketch of the Floor Plan, as well as the budget and client’s style.
Living Room Mood Board Design
I started off with creating a Mood Board for each space. Below is the custom Mood Board for the Living Room. Not shown are the Floor Plan and Shopping List I also created.
Dining Room & Home Office Mood Board
Because this was a small loft space in San Francisco, there was a lot of space planning involved to fit the Living Room, Home Office, Kitchen, and Dining Room into one open space. This is the Mood Board I created for the Dining Room and small Home Office. Not shown is the Floor Plan and Shopping List I also created for this space.
3D Rendering for the Living Room Space
I created this 3D rendering of the Living Room using the fixtures and furnishings I selected for the space:

Here is the 3D rendering I created for the rest of the open space, showing all three spaces:

And here is the real “After” of this space, shown at a similar perspective to the above 3D rendering:
The Rest of the Makeover Reveal
I have included some additional “After” photos of the completion of this makeover. Here is a detail shot of the sofa:

The Kitchen & open Dining Room area. While I didn’t design this Kitchen space, I have over ten years experience in architectural design, specializing in Kitchen & Bath design.

Modern Boho Master Bedroom Makeover
This loft also included one bedroom, which I also designed via Interior E-Design. This Master Bedroom showcases a graphic wallpaper on one wall as a focal point in this small room. Small scale furniture and modern sconces add function without taking up valuable floor space. I also created the Mood Board and Shopping List for this space (not shown).
The entire project was a budget-friendly makeover, and done with a very quick turn around time. Another shot of the Master Bedroom:
