Wow! It is here! The final day of the Postbox Designs 30 Day Room Challenge.
Thank-you to everyone who has followed along, contributed ideas, or shared their at home wins! It has been so much fun to explore little mini ideas you can do throughout your entire house. While remodeling and big projects are a blast, these mini projects are easy and attainable. I hope you these ideas have given you little bursts of inspiration! So for the very last day of the 30 Day Design Challenge, I wanted to focus on something that a lot of people want, yet they lack. If you have school age children, you have homework. And it seems for so many families, homework comes with extra turmoil “I can’t find my book!” or “Where are the pens?” or “My paper is due tomorrow and I forgot about it!”. (Can you TELL I have school aged kids?!) Sometimes all you need is an organized, dedicated space to make a job easier. For example, how many of you work better when you have a clean, organized desk? (Raising my hand right now!)
Pinterest is full of gorgeous, drool worthy homework rooms. Yes, you heard me…ROOMS! While most of us can’t have one of those, I took the inspiration from this beautiful homework station and gave ideas of what you can do in your home!

Depending on the space you have (and your child’s needs), a mini homework station could look like a:
-desk in his or her room
-a cart that you can wheel up next to a table for homework time then store in a closet
-a basket or bin that you can move around from room to room
-a turntable that can stay out on a desk or kitchen counter
If your kids aren’t in school yet, sub this in for a “craft area”. The point is, it doesn’t have to be big or fancy. It just has to be organized and available to them. That way they ALWAYS know where their supplies are. And they always have a spot where they can concentrate. Have a kid who is always forgetting when things are due? Add a calendar or check-list to his or her homework station. Or check out Day 1 when I gave you the idea about the Mini Command Center. Guess where our kids have to drop off their homework/papers that need to be signed? That’s right! We have an “inbox” right at our Command Center!
Again, thank-you for joining me in this journey. I hope you have been able to use at least one Challenge to make your life more peaceful and more beautiful.
