It is the third installment of my Fixer Upper Real Postbox Project I recently completed for a couple who just moved into their new home. They received their Postbox as a gift to give them a start in furnishing their new place just like they wanted!
The final project I worked on was their sunroom. For those lucky enough to have a sunroom in their home, you know this is an amazing bonus area for hang-out space. In fact I recently designed an entire sunroom addition as a Christmas present for my very own parents!
So what does a Rustic Farmhouse sunroom look like? I always have my clients create a Pinterest board to give me an idea of what their dream room would look like.
Here are a couple of inspirational sunrooms:
Domino
Southern Living
Lilypad Cottage
So what elements should you add to a Rustic Farmhouse Sunroom?
As you can imagine…lots of white!
Paneling, ship lap, or vertical battens
A lantern style pendant or chandelier style light
An indoor/outdoor rug or a natural material (jute and sisal are great for such spaces!)
She requested wicker furniture, but rustic woods and metals also work well
Window treatments make this space more like a “room” and less of a tacked-on space
So here is Version #1:
As I mentioned before, this is a young couple so budget was a factor. Therefore every item is affordable AND beautiful. Patio furniture can cost a small fortune, and she requested something that was wicker and super comfy. I was thrilled to find this Ikea wicker sectional that comes in multiple sizes and arrangements. This rustic coffee table and outdoor rug are durable and super pretty!
And Version #2:
This option gives a different furniture arrangement of a couple of love seats rather than a sectional. This wicker furniture is more “cottage” than “country”, and other Rustic Farmhouse elements like this rustic table, striped pillows, and cage style pendant complete the look. Like always, they versions are designed to mix and match!
And here is their Sunroom Postbox ready to be mailed out! They also got a custom Shopping List, Floor Plan, and material samples:
