Romantic Boho Bedroom Makeover
There is one color that scares everyone: THE COLOR PINK.
Unless you are decorating for a girl’s bedroom or nursery, pink can be a really intimidating color to use in your home. I get it! How do you use pink without looking too girly and feminine? Today I’m going to show you how to get over your fear of pink, and show you a recent dreamy boho Bedroom Makeover I created for one of my sweet clients.
How to Use Pink in a Romantic Boho Bedroom Design
Recently a past client of mine came to me needing help with revamping their existing Master Bedroom. And she showed me her gorgeous Pinterest board full of dreamy, romantic Master Bedrooms with some Boho flair. And the one thing all of her bedroom designs had in common were a soft gray and pale pink palette. I was swooning over it…and it wasn’t even my bedroom! So if these soft look is a vibe you want for your own Master Bedroom design, then I can help you out!
3 Tips To Use Pink In your Master Bedroom
Tip #1 to Using Pink: Use It Sparingly
Pink can be a powerful color (yep, even those soft pale versions), so you want to use it sparingly in a grown up space, because a little goes a long way. In fact, in this dreamy Bedroom makeover we only used pink in two spots: the blush velvet lumbar pillow (#6) and boho chunky woven blanket (#12). Using it in these two small areas bring in this soft looking without feeling like you are living in a princess castle.
Tip #2: Pair Up Pink Decor with Other Muted Colors
A soft pink works best hanging out with other muted, subdued colors. In this romantic boho Bedroom Makeover, the whole color palette is sofa grays, creams, tans, and blush pinks. Keeping these colors soft is what gives this dreamy, romantic look to the bedroom. Even though some of the art work is black and white, these prints are a slightly hazy, soft look. Nothing too bold would work in this bedroom design!
Tip #3: Choose the Right Shade of Pink
Like all colors, different shades of pink can give off a totally different vibe. Bright, bold pinks can work will as small pops of color in a modern design. In this bedroom makeover, we used soft, muted pinks such as blush, pale pink, and pastel pink. Using shades such as salmon or coral can work really well if you are going for a beachy, coastal vibe. And going back to Tip #1 of using pink sparingly-stick with just one or two similar shades of pink in one space!
Romantic Boho Bedroom Makeover
In this bedroom makeover, the bedding made all of the difference. We started with this ulta soft bedding set from Pottery Barn (#11) using a mix of subtle textures and patterns. Then we layered on these modern gold pillows from Crate and Barrel with a single pop of pink in this velvet lumbar pillow (#6). A boho chunky knit blanket at the end of the bed can be used in pink (#12) or cream (#13).
My client also requested an armchair in her Master Bedroom Design, so we paired up this slightly modern wingback (#2) with a marbled pink, gray, and white lumbar pillow (#3).
To add some glam to this dreamy boho Bedroom, we added pops of gold in this table lamp, marble and gold nightstand, and gold sconces, as well as a mirrored dresser from Pottery Barn.
Romantic Boho Bedroom Accessories
To go with this dreamy, romantic look in the Master Bedroom, we added in some subtle Boho touches. This woodgrain print from Target (#19) and woven tassel basket from World Market (#21), and cactus print (#18) from Pottery Barn add in some bohemian without going over the top.
