3 Different Dining Room Design Ideas: Which Would You Choose?
Hello there! I know we are about to talk about Dining Room Design (I’m sharing my round-up today!) but, if we aren’t friends already, I’m Kristin! I’m the owner of Postbox Designs, Interior E-Design, a single Mama of three, and a fully confessed carb addict. You can find me snuggled up with my kiddos watching The Great British Baking Show, making Trader Joe’s meals, and chasing down a crazy cat as part of our fun little life. And…I’ve been an Interior Designer for the last 16 years! But I started Postbox Designs over six years ago because I knew what it was like to be a crazy busy Mom. I know a lot of you know what you like, but have a hard time knowing how to pull it all together so your space looks polished and finished. But you also work, have kids, and a life. So I want to make it easy for you, so you can just simply click, buy, and pull together the room of your dreams without even leaving home. You can check out how this whole Interior E-Design process works to see if it is a good fit for you too.
And today I want to share a round up of three different Dining Room designs. With Thanksgiving in our rearview mirror, I had several clients reach out wanting some help with their own Dining Rooms as they start to think about hosting friends and families. So if you are in the same boat…
Which would you choose?
Dining Room Design #1: Serene and Neutral
This client wanted a serene and streamlined space with a coastal-meets-traditional look. So elements such as the white oak dining room table, rattan sideboard, and a light colored palette keeps things light and airy. I used the inspirational image (#1) to help her design and style her sideboard as well as her dining room centerpiece.
A large area rug, traditional coastal inspired art, and light linen curtains keep this neutral palette.
Dining Room Design 2: Modern Desert Boho Dining Room
I shared this Desert Dining Room (plus a Playroom and Living Room were parts of this makeover if you want to check out more of this project!) a few months ago. My client requested this fantastic desert boho look full of dusty pinks, rusts, and orange. As a typical boho design element-a rattan chandelier and cane dining room chairs add to this look.
I love to go neutral with the big furniture items (like this dining room table and dining room chairs) and added on the color and spice with accents such as their throw pillows and decor accent pieces. And any time you add color to a space you want to balance it out with some neutrals such as these rugs and artwork.

Dining Room Design 3: A Mid Century Modern Dining Room & Living Room Makeover
And for the final Dining Room Design of this round-up I’m calling all mid century modern fans! Just like Dining Room Design 2, I had the joy of also doing the adjacent Living Room and Bar area with this Dining Room. Bold colors, stream lined modern pieces, and a global influence make this dining room as special and unique as this family.
And as in many of my projects, my client opted for the Full Design Package, which included a 3D rendering of the space.
