Let’s Finish It Off: A Modern Neutral Basement
If you want to be the house where the party always wants to be…create an amazing Basement…with a Home Bar. So when this past client (who is kind, sweet, and has fabulous taste) reached out for help with their Basement renovation, I was happy to help! The first two rooms we tackled of her new Modern Neutral Basement design was the Home Bar and Bathroom.
Modern Neutral Home Bar Design
Both she and I share a love for Studio McGee, so we used a couple of their projects for inspiration (#1 and #4). Dark navy cabinets (#5), white quartz countertops (#6) and elongated glazed white subway tile (#7) create a neutral look but with plenty of texture to keep it interesting!
Plus a whole Basement level of lightly colored oak finish LVP flooring (#8 or #9) will keep things feeling light and airy.
And what’s a Home Bar without some fun accessories? Leather woven barstools (#3) and these dreamy pendant lights (#13 or #14) are the finishing sparkly touches on the space.
Modern Neutral Bathroom Design
And finally-the Basement Bathroom! Brass and Black keep this space with a modern look, but pulling in some ornate, traditional items (like this fun Anthropologie mirror-#2) keep up the juxtaposition of traditional and modern.
Like a lot of bathrooms I design, I like to go more neutral with the hard finishes like this modern white hex tile floor (#10 or #11) and these marble subway shower tiles (#7). And then you can layer on some color with the accessories, like these brass scones (#4), and Rejuvenation ceiling light (#8). And of course, this runner (#13) adds some color and warmth.
