Masculine Bedroom + Bathroom Makeover
Hi Friend, welcome to Postbox Designs, Interior E-Design! I’m Kristin and while I’ve been an Interior Designer for 15 years, I’ve been hanging out in the Online Interior Design world exclusively for the last 5 years. And honestly, I love it. I get to work around my client’s schedule, custom designing their room. And once we have a design they love, I send over everything they need to pull their room together. Then, they can order their entire room in an hour…in their PJs, over a cup of coffee.
And this week I wanted to share a recent Masculine Bedroom Makeover with you! This fantastic client reached out needing help making over his Guest Bedroom + Guest Bathroom. And lucky for me, he has fabulous taste, but just needed to help pulling it all together. Want to tour it with me?
Masculine Bedroom Makeover Must Haves
My client created a Houzz board full of dark and moody items with a masculine bent, plus a modern-meets-traditional look. So I created this Bedroom Makeover Version #1 for him:
I started with this gray and gold upholstered bed from Crate and Barrel, and loaded it up with crisp white bedding. This Restoration Hardware side table had a great modern look with its faceted wood, and I paired it up with this gold Crate and Barrel table lamp. This lamp has a USB port embedded in the back, which is great for a charging station for guests.
To style the rest of the nightstand, I found these great coffee table books, a vintage camera off Etsy (for a fun conversational piece) and this marble lidded box, which is a great catch-all for rings, change, keys, etc. for his guests.
And then I rounded up this room with this great graphic rug, a full length mirror (a request from my client) and these leather hooks for guests to hang their robes or clothing.
Masculine Bedroom Makeover: Take Two
After the first design, I always send it to my clients for feedback. It is a LOT easier to give feedback when my clients can see specific items-it usually sparks new ideas and conversation! So we made some swaps into this Bedroom Makeover Version #2-such as a new channel style bed from Wayfair and this brass Pottery Barn side table. Both still have a masculine sophisticated look, with a new twist. We also swapped out the West Elm armchair from Version #1 to this new West Elm leather armchair.
And you know what? After listening to my clients’s great thoughts and feedback….I like this version even better!
Neutral Guest Bathroom Design
And my client had an en suite Guest Bathroom connected to his Guest Bedroom. He wanted to keep the vanity, tile, and mirror, but wanted to do a refresh. He asked for help choosing new lighting, cabinet hardware, plumbing fixtures, accessories, and paint. He had a great vintage bathroom, so I chose classic period-influenced pieces to go with this existing bathroom.
A HUGE thank-you to my client for allowing me to share his project with you today!
