My 5 Favorite Room Design Posts from 2018 Round-Up
Hi Friends, This month actually celebrates the 3rd anniversary of Postbox Designs! And with it being the end of the year, I wanted to take a trip down memory lane to take a look at some of my favorite projects from 2018. Wanna come with me? I have so many great client projects that I loved working on, so it was hard to narrow it down! I finally chose these because for 4 out of 5 of these designs, you can actually snag the FREE Design Plan + Shopping Lists. That way you can grab the source lists easily.
So here we go….5 of my Favorite Blog Posts from 2018:

Builder Bathroom Transformation
In my world the term “Builder Bathroom” isn’t typically a term of endearment. The stereotype is usually a boring, “meh” room that just has the basic features. So when my client wanted to take her builder bathroom to the next level, I was thrilled to help her! We saved money by keeping everything in the same location, but did a major upgrade on her finishes.
Now shiplap walls, nickel sconces, a marble topped vanity, and marble hex floor tiles bring this bathroom to Modern Farmhouse perfection! You can check out the rest of the Befores and Afters (as well as the Design Plan) right here:

Free Guide: 75 Ways To Update Your Bathroom (Without a Full Remodel)
And while I would consider this Modern Farmhouse bathroom a “full remodel” it reminded me that there are so many little things you can do to update your bathroom. Small updates such as a new mirror, new lighting, or painting cabinets can make a huge difference…and without the expense of a gut job. So I created this free “75 Ways to Update Your Bathroom” Guide. You can find it inside my Free Resource Library. When you sign up you will get an email with the link and password to get 24/7 access for not only this Design Freebie, but ALL of the freebies you’ll see in this blog post.

Get the Free Designs: 3 Budget Laundry Room Makeovers
It is probably because I have an unfinished Laundry Room in the bowels on my windowless basement (insert “sigh” emoji here), but I’m obsessed with beautiful Laundry Room designs. So I shared not just one, but THREE Laundry Room Designs with you this year! From Industrial to Farmhouse, each of these Laundry Room designs are practical and durable as they are pretty. And you can grab the Free Designs + Shopping Lists for all three.

7 Steps to Creating the Perfect Playroom
Confession time: It may not be as dramatic as choosing your favorite child (of course I love all THREE of mine equally!), but I will definitely take a stance when it comes to favorite rooms. Kid’s rooms (and Playroom especially) are my absolute favorite rooms to design. In fact it is also the #1 design request I get from my clients, so there are a lot of you who love adorable kid spaces as well!
While I have shared many of them here on the blog, I shared this Colorado Playroom for two lucky boys back in May. I loved this Playroom because it is gender neutral, age-neutral and includes so much good stuff: toy storage, play area, desk & craft area, and seating area for TV and movie watching. So I know you will get some great ideas for your own kid space!

Mommy Blogger “She Shed” Reveal
This was a really fun project for me to work on for a few reasons. One: Because I focus on Interior E-Design, I don’t do too much work here in my hometown of Grand Rapids-maybe five projects a year. So when I get to work in my backyard, it is always special to me. Two: I paired up with two other Girl Bosses for this room makeover: Peg from “The Honest Mom” and Aly from “AlyMay Photography”. Peg needed a Home Office and Get Away space for work, but the room also had to multi-task as a Guest Bedroom AND Laundry Room. For this project I shared it in three different parts. You can see how we fit all of these functions into one fun Boho She Shed space!
Plus you can grab the entire FREE Design & Shopping List for this She Shed makeover.
And for the cherry on top: This She Shed makeover was even featured on Brit + Co! You can check out the whole article right HERE

Modern Farmhouse Kitchen: Grab the Free Design & Shopping List
Did you know my background is as a former high-end Kitchen & Bathroom Designer? Yup, while I was still in college I was cutting my design teeth in the remodeling world at my husband’s Design Build Remodeling company! For about a decade I designed Kitchens, Bathrooms, Additions, and a lot of home projects that were architectually based.
So while I’m now 100% into the Online Interior Design world, I love dipping my toes back in the Kitchen world. So I designed this Modern Farmhouse Kitchen that was featured on Remodelaholic.com earlier this year. I included the full design plus the Shopping List…and the best part? It is totally budget friendly.
And while I don’t showcase too many DIY projects here at Postbox Designs, I did make an exception for this Kitchen makeover. I included a simple DIY Kitchen Island tutorial that will be the hardworking star of your Kitchen.

The Reveal of My Daughter’s Unicorn Bedroom Makeover
And my final favorite blog post from 2018 is a personal one because it was in my own home. This fall I participated in the One Room Challenge to makeover my seven year old daughter Adelyn’s bedroom. She had big dreams of ponies and unicorns and sparkles. And this Mom also wanted something sweet and whimsical (and didn’t make my eyes explode when I walked into the room!). So she may have been my hardest client yet, but I think we came up with the perfect compromise for this Unicorn Bedroom Makeover.
I shared this bedroom makeover of six weeks as part of the One Room Challenge, but you can cheat and go straight to the Big Reveal! You can also grab the Free Design Plan + Shopping List so you can grab some ideas for your own daughter’s room.

And for all of you who are just checking out Postbox Designs for the first time-THANK-YOU!
Since I’m usually hanging in the online space behind my laptop, here is a sneak peek of….me! Here I am in my typical “work outfit”-skinny jeans and T-shirt and no shoes. My crazy hair was actually done for this day, but you can usually find me rocking the messy bun most days! I’m hanging out in my daughter’s finished bedroom:
Thanks for hanging with me as I took a trip down memory lane with some of my favorite blog posts from the year. With four of these blog posts you can grab the Free Design and Shopping List that goes with it. So just as a reminder you can get access to them all in one easy place.
